The report states that 75% of all deaths in Europe can be attributed to noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). The aims of the project were to identify and share good practices in implementing the integrated surveillance of NCDs at the national level, to compile and test a pilot data set for comparing the prevalence of NCDs and their risk factors at the international level, and finally to identify new data sets and ways of analysing and presenting the data.
