01 – Coordination of the Joint Action
The Coordination Work Package (WP1) managed the day-to-day administrative, technical and content aspects of the CHRODIS PLUS Joint Action. In addition to executing its daily management, this work package provided an overall planning structure and followed up on actions to reach project goals and successfully deliver project outputs.
Executive Board Management
Organising the Executive Boards on a monthly basis was one of this WP’s major responsibilities. The Executive Board was comprised of the CHRODIS PLUS Joint Action management team, WP leaders, the European Commission, and Consumer, Health, Agriculture and Food Executive Agency (CHAFEA) representatives. The Executive Board oversaw the Joint Action’s past and future activities. Executive Board Members met in person every six months and via teleconference on a monthly basis. These meetings allowed the board to have oversight of the project’s current activities and activities planned for the future. The Coordination WP linked the activities of all WP’s, updated the overall work plan, and monitored work progress in all of the WP’s.
Governing Board Management
The Coordination WP also coordinated the activities of the Governing Board (GB). The GB was comprised of representatives nominated by the health ministries of the Member States. The GB was responsible for developing a sustainability plan for keeping chronic diseases at the forefront of the political agenda for health after the completion of the Joint Action. The GB met once a year.
Events and Risks
This WP also participated in co-organising major Joint Action events such as conferences, plenary assemblies and GB meetings. Another aspect of this work package is to identify possible risks and take appropriate actions to minimise and mitigate them.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1575641242667{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]

“With rising life expectancy, but without quality life years gained despite ever-increasing healthcare related costs, the global community faces a challenge. CHRODIS PLUS is a European response to this challenge. This response is to assemble European expertise in order to combat the situation, which seems to be the new norm across the different European healthcare systems. CHRODIS PLUS has an important role with valuable results, which will affect the health of the European community. As the scientific coordinator, I trust the team of CHRODIS PLUS partners, people and organisations can deliver. I believe CHRODIS PLUS can bring the change that is required to tackle chronic diseases by successfully implementing best practices that are created and proven successful within Europe.”
