[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text disable_pattern=”true” align=”left” margin_bottom=”0″]Marking three years since the UN High-level Meeting on Non-communicable diseases (NCDs), the UN NCD Review in New York (10-11 July 2014) was an opportunity for governments, the UN system, and civil society to take stock of progress since 2011, identify gaps in action, and gather consensus on scaling up and transforming commitments into action at the national level, where the fight against NCDs must be won. Efforts made in the past three years to control diseases like heart disease, cancer, diabetes and chronic lung disease, show insufficient and uneven progress across countries. The report provides an updated overview of the NCD situation including recent trends and government responses in 194 countries.
