[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text disable_pattern=”true” align=”left” margin_bottom=”0″]This year first meeting of the EU Platform for action on Diet, Physical Activity and Health will be held on the 19 February. The meeting will be dedicated to actions in the field of ‘Consumer information, including labelling’. The initatiative of NHS Scotland : ‘Healthy Living Award ‘ has been accepted by the EC to be presented at the EU Platform meeting. The healthyliving award is a national award for the food service sector that rewards caterers who make it easier for people to eat healthily when eating out. The award is open to most catering businesses and NHS Scotland provides help, tools and support for entreprises joining it. Eating out plays an important part in people’s lives and what people are increasingly looking for is good, healthier food. Some of the results that will be presented in the EU Platform meeting include: over 700 award holders in 2014, with approximately 250-300 businesses working towards accreditation. Over 226,000 people a day eat in establishments that currently hold the award.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
